Call for Papers for the 19th National Environmental Conference for Doctoral Students

The 19th National Environmental Conference for Doctoral Students (hereafter referred to as “NECDS”) is an international conference focusing on environmental and related disciplines. Adhering to the mission of “Fostering Innovation through Exchange and Collaboration, and Achieving Mastery through Comprehensive Learning”, it provides a high-level platform for doctoral students in environmental and related fields to discuss new theories and technologies in environmental science and engineering.

Over the past eighteen years, NECDS has focused on the needs of pollution control and environmental quality improvement, and has been committed to the mission of cultivating high-level environmental talents for the country. It complements routine doctoral education by providing a second classroom experience with guidance from renowned experts and opportunities for peer interaction. It has bridged gaps between different environmental disciplines and fostered cross-disciplinary and cross-media innovation. Focusing on doctoral students, NECDS has built an exchange platform characterized by self-organization and deep participation. So far, NECDS has been successfully held for eighteen sessions, attracting over 4,500 man time. It has gained widespread recognition from scholars, postdoctoral researchers, doctoral and master's students in the environmental field worldwide and has become one of the largest platforms for doctoral students in the environmental field to exchange academic ideas, broaden their disciplinary perspectives, and foster academic friendships.

The 19th NECDS is scheduled in May 2025. This year's conference is jointly organized by Tsinghua University, the Chinese Society for Environmental Sciences, and the State Key Laboratory of Regional Environmental Safety, with the School of Environment at Tsinghua University as the host. The supporting units include the Asian University Alliance, the journal Frontiers of Environmental Science & Engineering, Hach Company, and Elsevier Publishing House.
